My son, master negotiator.

Mom: When we get home it’s time for nap.

Son: No.  Wrong words mommy.  First, I watch Cars, then I play with sister for a bit, then snack, then off to bed.

Mom: As soon as we get home it’s time for nap.

Son: No.  Those aren’t the right words mommy.  First I watch a Horton [Hears A Who], then play with sister, then get my racing cars, then have a snack, then off to bed.

Mom: How about this [looking at the clock]; snack, then bed.

Son: No.  Wrong words mommy.  How about, first I watch Cars, then snack, then off to bed.

Mom: How about this; one episode of Clifford, snack then nap.

Son: Those words.  Those are the right words mommy!  Good job!

Mom: Thanks.

Yes, that is pretty much the conversation verbatim.  And he’s not even three yet!
